A little over a year ago, extremely simple user analytics was added to vk.gy to get a general feel of how popular the site is. Here's what we've found!

In about a year, we've attracted over 60,000 unique people to the site, with getting close to 650,000 page views. In that time, close to 90% of those users were new, while 13% of them came back for seconds.

Where are They All Coming From?!

This actually surprised me a little when I first started looking at the data. Even though the vast majority of our editors are American or European, our users...are not!

Top Countries

Most of vk.gy's users are actually Japanese (we've made it!!!!!!!), and by most, I mean the overwhelming majority. While The United States comes in second, it's behind by 35,000 people. This is why a lot of our site features contain a translation option.

Well over 50% of visitors have their browsers set to some form of Japanese, where as the rest of the users are only fragments of that total. こんにちは、皆様!

Knowing this, the results for what cities users are from is not all too shocking. Take a look:

Our most popular city is Osaka. This is probably because we were at one point called "We Love UCP," dedicated to an Osaka-based record label, and that probably means KISAKI spends a lot of time reading up on what we think of him and we have a lot of exclusive and consolidated information on Osaka-based bands like Marvelous Cruelty and La'veil MizeriA.

A while ago, I made a joke on Twitter saying that most users enjoy "breakfast and vkei" because they tend to browse the site during the morning. According to this graph, that still holds true. However; I believe that Analytics is displaying in the account's timezone, which would be EST, and since most users are actually Japanese, 5-10am would actually be 6 - 11pm Tokyo time. 晩御飯とヴィジュアル系
